save for s939 and winchester, those overclock better and come with dual channel. 3000+ winchester is waaaaaaay cheaper too.

yeah, go with a 3000 winchester. You can buy some sort of crap mobo now, and buy a new one once a decent company makes a NF3-250 based 939 mobo with the money you saved from the 3700.
For those of you about to post:

well, its just that I JUST bought a Lanparty UT board, so I dont really want to screw s754 right now, and since I have a spare s754 mobo lying around here somewhere all my systems get an upgrade. so....does it OC at least as well as my 3400+ Hammer does? (in general that is, I know that each chip is unique)

i love my 3700+ is a nice clocker 2550mhz at 1.5v, 2588mhz at 1.55v, 2640mhz at 1.6v and 2700mhz at 1.728v but my room temps are probably hampering better oc's = room temp = 30.5-31C right now so my water temps are 30-32C heh

with very loose timings for Trc and Trfc

with DFI NF3 250Gb as well

Nice board without the headaches of the s939 boards

Best of all selling 3700+ later will cover costs of s939 cpu and board, whenever they produce better s939 boards in future heh

wow thats nice, my 3400+ is weird, at like 1.9v I cant do more than 2.45ghz. And at a higher Vcore my crappy thermaltake cooling gives out. Im gonna get a Coolermaster Hyper 6 soon though, and im gonna mod a duct so that the HSF brings in air from outside the case.

hmm makes sense, I get temps like 50ish idle and it sometimes crashes during benching im assuming its heat. Im gonna get an AC and mod a duct cooler soon.

ur 3400 just wasn't that great of a chip...but the 3700 is def a nice chip, bleh can't say that...u mite get unlucky again...1.9v on air, wow
if your chip is running with such voltages already..that doesn't give u much room to do anymore, but the a/c would def help

1.9v is very dangerous for an a64, lower it to 1.7v and you should get almost the same. if its that bad, ebay it for another!
