    no no..

4x dimms on 875P = PAT only enabled at 200fsb and disabled at 201fsb or higher

2x dimms on 875P = PAT enabled all the time regardless of fsb

    i've tested

    4x 512MB Hynix PC3200 D43
    4x 512MB Corsair XMS3200C2v1.1 BH-6
    4x 512MB Corsair XMS3500C2v1.1 BH-5
    4x 256MB Corsair XMS3500C2v1.1 BH-5
    4x 512MB Kingston HyperX PC3200 KHX3200/512 BH-5
    4x 256MB Kingston HyperX PC3200 KHX3200K2/512 BH-5
    4x 256MB ADATA PC4000
    4x 256MB OCZ PC3500 Premiere

    all on 875P disabled at > or = 201fsb

only can force 4 stick PAT on Abit AI7 865PE with 16beta bios, 17 bios won't work

ahh, well, who cares...can't have everything. PAT won't matter when I have 2GB of Corsair running at DDR500 2-2-2-5. HAHAHAHAHAH....mwhahhahahahaha....hahah...ahhhhh.. ..

    4 x 512MB XMS3500C2v1.1 won't go anywhere near DDR500 at 2-2-2-5 even with 3.6v i tell ya

    We'll just see about that....I've got 2x512 there already...I don't see why I can't do it with 4x512...

I see now that you have done quite a lot of testing yourself...what is it you think that keeps the clocks down when you have 2GB installed?

    this is

4x 512MB XMS3500C2v1.1 BH-5 @ 220mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.2v (the max they can do with that voltage to give you an indicator of the stress and difficulty of DDR500 goal)

    2.4C/Abit AI7 16beta1 bios

with PAT enabled using NB Strap 667fsb and GAT = A-A-A-D-D

only 3 boards i tested handle any decent oc'ing with 4 sticks populated and best in order of degree of oc'bility with 4 sticks are

    1. Albatron PX865PE PRO2 - no PAT but highly oc'able 4 sticks functioning
    2. Abit AI7 - 4 sticks can force PAT enabled with certain bios but depends on ram
    3. Asus P4C800-E - no PAT with 4 sticks but okay oc'bility

The memory controller/chipset on 865PE/875P boards can't handle 4 sticks that well particularly 4x 512mb vs 4x 256mb. Think of 4 stick oc'ing like that of when in past trying to do 2x sticks oc'ing on first rev 845* based chipset boards!

Worse 4 stick oc'ing board for me Epox 4PCA3+ rev1.1, example 4x 512MB Hynix PC3200 on Albatron PX865PE PRO2 max oc was 266mhz 3-4-4-8 at 2.85v no PAT, on Epox couldn't get stable with 4 sticks even at 217mhz 3-4-4-8 or any timings at any vdimm between 2.6-3.3v

Well, aparently there is a bigtoe BIOS hack that allows for continuted operating with PAT enabled with 4 DIMM slots filled. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this?

I'd pretty much listen to eva2000 on this one. Just a tip

PAT won't matter when I have 2GB of Corsair running at DDR500 2-2-2-5.
that will be even more difficult than running the said 2x512 at 280 2-2-2-5..
The MCH/board design just can't do it.
    But good luck anyways

btw, I just happend to test my P4C800-E w/ most aggressive mem settings yesterday running 2x512 and it wasn't 100% stable even at 200FSB (does ~3300MB/s unbuffered at 200FSB)
    2x256MB would run 255-260 w/ same settings 3D Stable.

    what 2x512MB was that ?

with OCZ DDR Booster i have no probs running 2x512MB BH-5 up to 250-255mhz 1:1 2-2-2-6 but no droop mod or vAGP mod limits me here sigh

    3.2EE @ 250fsb Corsair Hydrocool
    2x 512MB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE BH-5 @ 250mhz 2-2-2-6

there's no doubt 2x 512MB BH-5 with 3.3-3.5v could do 250-260mhz 2-2-2-6 but 4 sticks usually requires good ram, 0.15-0.4v more vdimm and looser timings and/or good mem controller

    845 chipset - nice 1 stick oc'ing
    865/875 chipset - lovely 2 stick oc'ing
??? chipset - for awesome 4 stick oc'ing will it ever happen ?

I don't think 2 GB is needed ...unless for a gaming server or such I'd prefer a high OC /w 1 GB.

btw, i just picked up some new Corsair BH-5 too (2x256) ...off some n00b who didn't even know what it was ...for 70 bucks!!! so far does 220 2-2-2-5 @ 2.8v
    Intel i7 930 @ 4.2Ghz 24/7
    Asus Rampage 3 Extreme
    Asus Radeon HD 6990
    Corsair Dominator GT 6GB
    Corsair AX1200, 600T
    Intel X25-M 160GB
    Dell U3011 30" Monitor

    hi hi,

    I have 2g 4x512mb BH-5 334WF, running together, 1st they can't o/c higher than 2 sticks.

For 4 sticks, P4C800D, PAT disabled after 200fsb no matter waht seetings in bios.
While my Epox 4PCA3+, bios 19/Mar/04 PAT is able to turn on at 233fsb. (but what a da_n new bios, 23/7/04 diabled all PAT function)

So, It really depends on the bios & the quality 875 chips.
