Is there an "3.3V Vio = Vdimm Mod" for MSI K8N Neo2 ?
Thx in advance

yes you must do step 1. step 2 is optional(required for higher vdimms).
Thx, but that is not what i really want! I want the 3,3V directly to the Vdimm, bcs i can turn my 3.3V on my PSU up! Like this Mod @ the K8N Neo Platinum (Socket754), dunno if its the same Layout, but i hope so.
I have BH5 and its no prob to give 3.3V every day.

Gravdigga, for any Vdimm = 3.3v Vio mod, all you have to do is find the capacitor that is closest to the dimm sockets that is reading Vdimm and run a wire from the 3.3v input to that capacitor leg.
I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.
Ok, thx. If i have the Board @ the end of the week, i take some pics, and maybe u can help me to find this capacitor leg.
Thx in advance.

Hi
@ Hell-Fire
Here are the Pics of the K8N Neo2, maybe u can tell me the leg that i need
I think the one in the red circe are the correct one?!
Got the info from a post from kyosen on page 1 : http://xtremesystems.org/forums/show...602#post540602
Thx in advance!
And thats the frontpic of this part.
Sorry, for the bad quality, but my cam sucks

Heh cams rule
I plan on doing some of these tonight so i just would like to get some clarification before i make a total mess of things and this will be my very first project so i'd rather be over cautious than mess up the board. Some of my questions might be the same things others have asked but again i just wanna be absolutely positive i'm interpreting things correctly before i blow up my board
Step 1 is for vddr which can give you up to 3.2-3.3
Step 2 is vddr up to 3.65
As per step 2 do you actually pull the resistor off the board and slap on your VR in it's place (i've read what it says in the pic but i want to be 100% sure before i go ahead and do it)
The Vht is for chipset? This one i'm lost on. Where on the board can you measure this voltage?
I've seen 2 diff pictures of where to measure vddr volts from. Which one is correct? On a side note with all these pots do you start out all the way clockwise or counterclockwise and go up slowly?
Extremely nice work guys i do appreciate the feedback and information.

Could any1 show me where to measure VDDR? I looked at the pictures and already tried a few measuring points but I can't find the right one Sorry if thats a dumb question
Sandy Bridge incoming.
This one won't work?

Hello All!
I ran a wire from the 3.3V rail to the Vdimm(Vddr) regulator FET. POST's Ok, but going into W2K/SP4, the system crashes with the dark blue screen with small white lettering....
I know it's the right point as I used a DMM to observe the voltages as I changed Vdimm in the BIOS....
What am I missing? I have used this mod on a varity of boards without issue... Why is this board different..?
Many thanks in advance.....
EDIT: I see a pic of the FET 2 posts above this post...

3,3V to the Vddr-reading-point @ the Mosfet? Are u crazy?!
U must do the wire between the 3,3V and the Capacitor like in the pics
shown above! Hope ur board isnt damaged!

Huh.. I thought Vddr is the Memory Vdimm point. It tracks with the Vdimm BIOS settings....
OK, thanks! That's what's wrong..... Board still works...
Tell us if it work fine after u change the Mod!

I need the mod to work as I've got the mem holding me back. 2.85Vdimm just isn't enough:
Just what is Vddr and why does it track the "Memory Voltage" as it's set up in the BIOS "Cell Menu"...?
Also, checking with a DMM, there is almost zero(0) ohms between the FET lead labeled Vddr, and the positive lead of the cap that is suppose to be connected to the 3.3V rail....
I'm a little confused here... Can anyone shed any light on just what Vddr is, and why it can't be connected to the 3.3V rail...?

Hey guys, none of you had found an easiest vdimm mod?

I still want to know why the Vddr measure point can't be connected to the 3.3V rail. That would be the easiest Vdimm mod....
Vdimm = Vio is very easy But maybe to much voltage for u.

The Mosfet where u reading the Vddr is regualting the Voltage! He gets 3,3VOriginally Posted by RebelsHaven
anyway, but then he make 2,6/2,7/2,8 V etc. from it. Correct me if im wrong.
