yeah its odd. i think its because i am not using the correct power supply. i have a 1200watt psu coming in a few days with all the correct plugs on it. atm the 700watt psu i am using just isnt up to the job at all. i kee having the machine shut down under load.

so at a guess i expect that it is definatly that they simply not drawing enough juice from the psu anyone agree

What are you running that causes your 700w to shutdown under load? and what kinda PSU is it?

using an ocz 700 watt psu and only using 4x 6 pin plugs. 2 sata hard drives and one cdrom.

any time the cards get under load the who system shuts down and restarts. only happens with these two cards. if i swap out my x1950xtx'x i do not get the problem at all. so i am figuring it has to be the psu not giving enough amps down the rails to the cards when they are under load.

I will have to test out the 700w I have on hand.... See how that works... I have my 1kw but I am interested to see if the load is really that bad.

Nice default clocks and score. What drivers are you using? Yesterday I noticed 7.7's are available.

What are load temps. looking like? I assume it is the default cooler on this card.

Problem found with PCMark05--- Driver related, or hardware? Cant seem to figure it out. Running HD2900XT 1GB version

PCMark05 specific tests of "Transparent Windows" and "Graphics Memory 64lines" seems to be scoring ungodly low. XP 32bit

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=643206 - Old score of mine with an X1900XTX, Xeon3060, and Bad Axe2 at 3.6ghz with DDR2 800 3-3-3-6 -9249

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=986862 - Current system in my sig, HD2900XT (2d clocks match 3d clocks) XP 64bit, also tested XP 32bit.

Now can anyone else confirm this problem? Ive looked through the results browser for any other like it and they all seem to be the same of anyone running Windows XP...if they are on vista it seems to function properly in the 3k range.

Anyone able to run PCMark05 with their HD2900XT 1GB card on XP, would like to see if anyone yields the same results.

I ordered my HIS 2900XT 1 Gb today..I am worried that some people had problems with the OCZ 700W. Has anyone found any further info regarding this? I am only running my E6600 at 3 GHz ATM and 1 SATA drive.
However, I run at 1920*1080, so I was concerned that the high shader load seemed to cause PSU issues.

I took the OCZ 700w i had and hooked it up just to check, it had no problems at all.

Sweet! I can't wait to get my 2900xt on
I guess I'll post some benches when I get it in. I have a fairly mild OC only E6600...only 3 GHz so far.
