Here is a demonstation of one of the strong points with Crossfire vs SLI. Crossfire offers less CPU overhead wich directly translates into higher fps in the cpu limited tests like deep freeze here. Same card clocks as before.

You are going to need a 5ghz quad to start seeing some real numbers

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.
Yeah. With 5GHz we will see some good numbers This weeks nitrogen delivery didnt arrive that is why I'm just messing around with a terrible (it is time for service) cascade that holds -75C loaded using QX6700 at relativly low voltages. And the cards still on stock coolers in a pretty warm room.
Test 2 of the SM2.0 tests is limited by graphics perf. The fps walled above 4.2GHz. I did a test with 920/980MHz (not stable threw all tests in 3dmark 06) and saw a fps increase in the beginning with 8 fps wich is alot. Canyon flight saw a good fps increase from more system perf. and PCI-E bandwidth. Remeber this is 880MHz core and R600 is good for atleast 1150MHz in crossfire using ln2 or cascades. I ran Canyon Flight in 3Dmark 05 at these speeds and got 215 fps wich is really good for the cpu clock. Total score were ~29500 in 05. It is really nice to see CF boosting GT2 rather then slowing it down

Whoa Nice !! Though I'd love to see some 1k/1k xfire action, this is a nice jump
Perkam
So would I belive me The summer is here though so wont happen on stock coolers. The cascades warms up the room alot aswell so about 25C temp in the room. With ln2 on the master card and cascade on slave 1150MHz will be easy really, from my experience. I only have samples from early production and I belive they are warmer compared to the ones you buy retail today, atleast they do not clock as good.
Nice pair of RAM you got there Marcus
Can't wait to see your scores with better cooling on all components ( CPU,VGAs )

OMG!! You jumped over 10000 SM3.0 on air
That is awesome!! RESPECT Kinc
BTW you're pretty close to Ultra results ! Can't wait for your LN2 delivery .

Thank you elmor that is an excellent comparison.

Card clocks about 680/1150 if I'm not mistaken.

No liquid nitrogen this week either I'm going to be out on ln2 for osme time now since there is problem with my distributer.
In the meantime I have modified the cooler for 2900XT to cool better used in a crossfire setup. It lowerd temp about 6C idle/load. All the air is focused to to pass through the heat sink, atleast 99% of it. Leaving the last part of the fins uncoverd helps the airflow.
This is the reason why I did it:

Can't get much better than that Now just pray for colder outside temperatures.

Yeah almost 20C outside night time is not fun for overclocking
hihi ,connect it to an air conditioner .

Droop moded the board wich let me run 100MHz more cpu (note again the cascade is only holding -65C during cpu test thats why the clock is so low). Cards at same clocks as before. The air is 8C warmer then before.

nice clks for a quad on that board . if you only had 2x16 pci-e .would probably give you more off a boost .

It is actually stable at 4600MHz now wich is about what I can run with this cascade on a 680i. So it is looking good, if only I could get some ln2...
