    The same board does not support both DDR2 and DDR3. There is a model of the PK5 that supports DDR2 but the model that's supports DDR3 is a different mobo. DDR2 is not pin compatible with DDR3 even though both have a 240pin layout. The keying on the memory socket has been changed on DDR3.
