Asus has started hosting their P5K Bearlake DDR2 mobo support files on their server for those interested, don't see the manual though.

    ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5K

    Found it,

Do they (P5K Deluxe and P5K3 Deluxe) have solid capacitors (made of polymer, much more durable) like all new Gigabyte motherboards?

On the deluxe model the Ram slots are a bit closer to the Gfx card "virtual" line than they used to be on P5B D...
It looks to me that we are gonna have some trouble with clearance between gfx with long pcb's and clasps on the ram slots when opened...
    Is it??

Typical. On P5N-E you couldn't take ram sticks out without taking out the gfx.

When enable "CPU Volt Damper", Vdroop is 0.01v or no droop at all

@ webwilli : do you have some news about another Bios, my shipped Bios 0123 can not clock my Ram at 1000Mhz 5-5-5-18. On my old Commando, P5N32E SLI Plus/non-Plus, P5B Pre, EVGA ect .... it did 1200Mhz 5-5-5-18 . So i guess Bios 0123 is holding my Ram.
I asked Andre for 0303 Bios but he hadnt replied yet

My beloved Abit Quad Gt board just kinda died temporarily(sp) cus of a bios flash gone wrong. So the question is, if i would get a board wich would be the better one to pick? The asus p5k deluxe or the gigabyte p35p dq6 board. Wich one is the best considering vrops and such. When i saw the voltage damper setting in the asus board i thought that it must been a v-dropp elimination(spell) thiny.
I know that theese boards are new out there, but if ya have one of them could ya up the v-core quite high and se if it changes under load, if so how much.

    edit again.

The layout look normal but no replaceble bios chip, what if a bios flash goes wrong?

Why there's bios option for that dampener which ain't on on default? Some downsides to it?

Just like some board of Asus ( Commando, P5B ect ), this board has the feature "Crash Free Bios 3". It will automatic search for the Bios file (in usb flash or CD-Rom) when booting and flash it if you had updated wrong Bios or corrupted. I did a test and it worked fine.

thanx, nice to know that someone has a (do i dare to say) bullet proof bios. Or is it possible to crash it too?

I mean to not make it not to boot at all after a bad flash.

Damn, P5K Deluxe must be the nastiest board on earth

Memory runs like hell with the latest bios (0303) and my board takes 570FSB 1:1 out of the box. Funny enough that frequency is cpu logics limited.

The cpu cannot run over 570FSB no matter which board or cooling is used.
On P5B Deluxe it was capped to 570FSB with LN2 cooling.

wth !! you said it clocks Mem like hell but in my case 0304 Bios is the same with 0123 Bios, my Mem (Adata pc6400 4-4-4-12 Vitesta Extreme Edition) could not clock at 1000Mhz 5-5-5-18 with any Vdimm. hmm ...... This mem clocked 1200Mhz 5-5-5-18 at all my boards but not in this P5K Delx Strange !!!

So the P5K Deluxe DDR2 or the DFI Infinity P965-s, which one do you think would work better for C2D and DDR2?
