I'm currently running stock with 2:1 Ratio for memory. But I was able to stay stable at 3.52GHZ 8x440 with 4:5 ratio 1066 strap, this was prime stable, but I'm not going to be trying to push further without better cooling, I'm currently on all stock cooling and a TT smartfan pointed at the mofset coolers.

Finally got home to do some very quick tests, this chip is very flat and very cool.

I should probably up date my sig, i now have an 8800 which was running at 615Mhz and 1950Mhz.

Just got my first out of 3 it's an L30F070 Pack date 02/07/07 will test it on the Striker...

    Just put it in

Coretemp reads out Vid 1.3250 ( in comparison to my 32A Vid 1.3150)

Initial tests at 2400mh stock (all bios voltages auto) sees a drop in temps of over 4-5°C in reference to my 32A ( and the AS5 hasn't settled yet) temps at idle around 30-32°C
... will let it run for half an hour before cranking up....

Orthossing Small FFT now at 1.31 real Vcore ( according probe when Orthos is running) at 3Ghz (9 x333), temps under my water loop 40-42°C

    We continue 1.34 Vcore for 3200mhz ( 8 x 400 ) , temps 44-47°C ( test failed after 2 mins with previous 1.31 Vcore)

Now bump up to 3600mhz took me up to 1.47Vcore to just boot into windows... Orthos failed under a minute though, retried at 1.5125 set in bios 1.49Vcore Orthossing Small FFT's now for 30 minutes...temps over 55°C

Bump failed after 1 hour and 2 minutes, this one goes into the clients even though the temps looked nice, I ain't gonna put 1.55 volts through this CPU...

I want at least one good one, just 3200mhz is fine with coolest remps possible under my thermalright Ultra 120 , that one I keep the rest goes into the clients rigs...

    Keep you posted

    for me 32A rocks 30F

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

I picked up a L629F221 from Tankguys..got it shipped and delivered fast

max vid on box is 1.35v....SL9ZL
    The VID is 1.25v
    Tjunction is 85

Badaxe2 bios defaults vcore to 1.25v

I am allowing my loop to bleed now before I do any testing....

my idle temp is 27/28C...ambient is 24.2

I checked the IHS with a razor last night and looked "flat"...but if it is concave..will idle and load temps both skyrocket

I am using MX-1.."large blob" center method

I booted initally at old settings of 1.525v with powerslope on...immed after install and idle temp in bios was 47!!!! ....I enter bios and set cpu defaults...
    bios idle at 36 FWTW

At stock VID (1.250vcore) you should realize 5-9C with a lapped IHS. The real tell is when you start upping the vcore. With the stock IHS (if cupped) the temps will get out of hand quickly. I believe 36C at idle and stock vcore is very high no matter if you are on air or water.

Even with a true straight edge it is very difficult to tell if the IHS is flat. One of the best ways to check is take a dry erase marker and color the entire IHS.
Lay a piece of paper on a mirror or pane of glass and gently slide the cpu across the paper. If the center of the IHS appears untouched then the IHS is concave and needs to be lapped. Yes you will void the warranty but unless you decide to put ridiculous amounts of voltage thru the cpu for extended periods of time then I would not worry. These L629Fs should easily run 3.6-3.7GHz with not too much vcore and good cooling.

To check if the CPU is concave or flat, I normally just use a plastic ruler. If it's concave, I will see a space. If it's flat, I won't see any space. Kind of go all the way across the IHS for any inconsistency. My 6320 is close to being flat, but not perfect as the edge (all sides) of the IHS has a small ridge that kind of raises the heatsink a little according to what I can tell my using the ruler to measure it. I lapped my Celeron 356 just a few weeks ago because it was really concave. It got a 8-10 degree improvement from the lapping. I won't lap my E6320, though, because I still want the warranty.

Got my Xeon 3060 L644F011 last night just put everything together and flashed bios om my new Asus P5K dlx. I was pretty disapoined when i first looked at the box L644F....wtf well started blendtest@ 400x9 1.39v 5h

no problem lowerd vcore to 1.35v priming for a short while but i halted after ~30min no problem im gona run orthos longer later on today. The vid on this cpu is only 1.2125v acording to coretemp 0.94
and yes i know it 0.94 because 0.95 dont wrk on P5K.
    Ambinent is ~28c

    Ten that Xeon is sick!

    My L629F221 from Tank Guys at 8x425 1.31v -

So far so good @ 8x425. Set nb to 1.4v board super cool. Give me a day or two for 8x450... I still have yet to drop my vcore one notch and try to get Orthos blend stable. I think it will work and then I'll have a lower baseline for this speed. Then I'll make the next move upward. My little notebook is filling up.

For some ppl it's giving random reboots and bsod with P5K.
    But maybe not for all.

Coretemp 0.95 seems to work better on Vista then on some XP, if I launch it on my Striker board it reboots immediately, 0.94 works without issues...

I better bought a Xeon then those 2 batches of E6600... none of them do 12 hours plus stable, neither on the P5K nor the Striker board , but 3.4 is no prob ...

Did you try any more tests at 1.35v yet? I'm interested in how it does.

Im starting it right now, havent bean at home. I need to take a look if my n-b cooling is making good contakt too, because my n-b temp is pretty high for P5K ~43-46 @ load 1.4v on n-b.
