    Per dnottis request:

This is NOT mine and the price has been dropped to $270 shipped

    FS: Intel Core2Duo E6700ES B1
I have up forsale today an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Engineering Sample. Its a great overclocking. I no longer need it so I am letting it go for a great price of $300 shipped in the US. I have lapped the cpu IHS flat because it was concave.

Great overclocker and has reached 4.6ghz on dry ice and a 975x motherboard. It is a great overclocker. Unfortunately I lost the hdd with the pics before lapping. I have these from when it was lapped. Should hit 3.7+ daily on a good water setup.

FYI: Only a couple B's left, those sell quick.

Also, anyone who orders, please use firefox if you can - There's a bug right now where IE isn't saving the product attributes you select, so we have no idea which option you chose (I'm working on it right now)

I see L629F as in stock. Any difference between the F and B's? Thanks.

There's a lot more results from the B's, but from what we've seen, the F's are good too. Just search for L629F on this forum and you'll find some results.

So far my new egg L647G421 is at:

I know, it's not very impressive. Took 1.46V, vdroop to ~ 1.44 and its rock solid 24hrs orthos. I will by giving it a go for the ceiling, but will probably be limited due to my lack of active cooling for NB/SB and my not so well ventilated case. Anyone with some suggestions on the volts such as VTT/ ICHIO and VMCH will be appreciated.

    L629F221 from Tankguys

After some disappointments with an E6600 and E6420 L644G and only mild success with an E6420 L651B I decided to buy an E6600 L629F from Tankguys. First thing I noticed is the VID is 1.2375 instead of 1.325 or 1.350. I got to 3.3GHz before I had to bump the vcore for stability (relative as I only run orthos small ffts for 1 hour initially). Idle temps for the L629F are 28C whereas the idle temsp for the G and A chips at this vcore was around 22C. I finally got to 3.6GHz at 1.475vcore but the problem is now heat as these chips run siginficantly hotter than the A or G chips. This chip acts very much like my old Xeon 3060 in that it tracks well but has heat issues and to remedy that on the Xeon I had to lap the IHS as it was quite concave. Initial impressions are that this chip is less of a pain in the ass to OC to high FSB than the current chip available so I believe it is worth the extra $$$ for less headache in this area. I will lap this puppy and then put it under water to see just how well it performs.

I also have an L629B coming Monday, from Tankguys, so I will get some initial impressions from that chip and share how it works. As of right now I highly recommend the L629F if you can get one but be ready to lap it and if you put it under good cooling I am confident you will be pleased with the results.

Can you post a pic of your system volts, ICHIO,VTT,VMCH,ICH? Would really be appreciated. Also someone mentioned that if you increased the volts of these parameters this may allow you to decrease your core voltage? Does that make any sense?

I did the pencil vdroop mod...

1.475v vcore, Mem @ 2.2, everything else is bumped to the first setting that can be chosen. I don't use auto for anything. No bumping the other voltages doesn't mean less vcore - how I wish lol!

3.4 GHz (426*8, 4-4-4-12) @ 1.5V (according to EasyTune) with a Scythe Mine and 120mm fan at 4600 RPM. Mid-50s temps in Core Temp during F@H Windows SMP and mid-60s in Orthos. Currently folding 24/7. My temps seem very low considering the voltage and my modest cooling. My old E6300 would have melted down at 1.5V.

Can't get 3.5 Ghz stable for more than 30 minutes and the system will not POST at 3.6 GHz.
