I had a 300FSB "wall" on my E4300, then I updated my AW9D to a bios that supports 1333 strap natively. Selected that and it's at 333*9 (3GHz) at stock volts atm.

I hope by Natively that means No Mods to the cpu? If so when I get a cheap stick of ram that does 1.8v I can set the bios(Hopefully, as I put a Noctua NC-U6 NB heatsink on Mine and the Noctua is solidly mounted as It doesn't move), As My current ram won't boot below 2.1v(2GB OCZ PC2-8000 Gold GX xtc[2x1024MB]) and being I have the old 1.3 Bios and not the New 1.4 Official Bios(Unless I'm wrong the Bios version won't make any difference here in this case, Can't flash It with ram that doesn't get enough voltage). I'd cleared the cmos as I had a QX6700 cpu on this motherboard at one time with a multiplier of 12, If the multiplier had been set at 9 It could have booted.

To get bsel1=Low, why not connect to bsel2 which is already in L?

That was the original plan in the beginning of the e4300 pad mod, but it was not successful at all. For some reason or another BSEL1 was getting a low signal, or the circuitry did not want any of it.

Either way, the BSEL1-->VSS is the best shot.

Plz excuse my ignorance, but I gather that the 266/1066 mod definitely works for the e4300, but does the 333/1333 mod work? Any word on either mod with the e4400? Thanks.

    working mobos

is there a list anywhere of mobos this works on? I only have P5B-DLX and it doesn't work.

I would love to find a good mAtx board to use for budget builds.

I did bsel mod on my E4300 Q643... with silver and they work, defult boot at 266, but I don't get any improvement on fsb. Before and after bsel mod wall is 405 fsb. Board is biostar 965pt with 0404RH bios.

So for a e4300 is it better to run a 1066 strap or a 1333?
Also does this only work with p965 boards and not 650i?

NO the mod does not usually work on the P5B-D, i know that in my case running the 0711 bios on the p5b-d worked the same as doing the mod without doing the mod

and Dekara i think the 921 bios worked as well

    Hi guys
I have an e4300 (Q635A165) and for every multi I have a different FSB WALL (because i think that it's this the problem!)

with 6x max bootable is ~417 of FSB
with 7x max bootable is ~364 of FSB ()
with 8x max bootable is ~415 of FSB
with 9x max bootable is ~414 of FSB

With vcore default I can get until ~350(x9) of FSB

    BTW my daily now is 400 x 8 = 3,2GHz @ 1,36v with ram in syncronous at 4-4-4-11 @ 2v on Asus Commando

    400 x 8 = 3,2GHz with ram in sync at 4-4-4-11

This is a screen with my e4300 and my previous Intel D975XBX

    3662 mhz | E4300 | Q635A165 | 1.518V | Air (Scythe Ninja)

Now my question is: with this mod can I break my strange FSB WALL?

I tried last 6 different bios for biostar 965pt 103, 119, 119RH, 119RH2, 0404, 0404RH and result is same, fsbwall on ~405 fsb . Neither bios won't boot 400 fsb with 6x, 7x or 8x multi but 9x work ok. Several bios just don't like lower multi than 9x on 350-400 fsb. I'll try another ram and 914 bios but it's small chance to change something.

    EDIT: I try 914, 914RH, and 103RH bios and still nothing .

It's for the FSB WALL, not for the max frequency
My FSB WALL is 417 (with 9x)

    364 with 7x

But I'd like to know if this mod can break this strange wall

Does this mod work with 650i or does this wall only appear with p965 chipset?

Confirmed this mod works for the e4300 and ecs p4m800pro v2.0
cpu boots at 266 x 9 default and can be oced to 300fsb.

2.7 ghz for a $100 mobo+cpu combo at frys. This was during the frys anniversary sale. I must say, such a sweet hometheater pc.
