    Commando a short story--->QX6700 @ 487FSB

    Asus Commando

    today i bought the board @ 12:16PM and.....

    14:16PM(boot @ 450 x 7 + XMS2 Pro)

    14:21PM(boot @ 460x7 + XMS2 Pro)

    14:30PM(boot @ 480x7 + Crucial 6400)


    15:00PM Commando is dead
    she dies when i was trying to boot @ 487FSB......
    those are the last volts settings
    vnb->1.65v,cpu vtt->max,vcore->1.45v,vddr->2.425v

    That happens to me when I have a 'failed overclock' Sometimes it will say 'DET DRAM' and others it says 'CPU INIT' randomly. To get round it I boot with a stick of low rated memory and then go to bios press F10 to save, then power off and put my 'proper memory' back in and I'm away again. It doesn't happen so often with my HZ D9GMH, but happens frequently with my Cellshock D9GKX.

    I think what happens is the board tries to boot at default settings after a bad overclock and the default VDIMM just isnt enough for my GKX (1.83v).

    interesting you did mention at i4memory.com that you had all sorts of trouble with those cellshocks and this mobo so that's it is it

    Yup I've seen a few folks on different forums with the same problem, not just with Cellshocks. It really takes the fun out of it for me

    my Crucial is D9GMH and i have tried with Corsair Value 667 -> no post

    PcCI2iminal try to unplug power from MoBo, a few minutes after try to boot.
    Before do this clear CMOS.
    Its works for me sometimes
    Lights, Music, Camera, Action !

    Nope, I did notice it, and I would guess that's why this thread was titled "short story" coz the board died a "short while" after. I was referring to CPU, since most Kents have FSB wall way way below 400FSB, even with some i965-based boards and specially on air!

    PcCI2iminal, did you do the GTL mod on that board?

    try removing power plugs, take battery off and CMOS clear for few hours..... might work....
