AMD Quadcore sample appeared in Akiba!!!

I'd bet 10 bucks the chip is simply a deactivated example of the K8L. Built and then disabled by AMD for use at events like that one as a physical representation only. This way the chip could go to events like this one and there would be no risk of someone getting a hold of it and spilling the beans on how it performs...

You would still need a AM2+ motherboard.

ok let me rephrase that, you would still need a motherboard with a BIOS that knows that chip.

K8L case is the similar case
i think we will be able to run tests on 1/4 of K8L

Interesting. That means that tomorrow's AMD TDP of 125W is going to be more hot than today's 125W.

Well, that is quite a difference as todays 125W TDP (from AMD) will be 100W in AMD's tommorows TDP rating. (my figures are not based on anything, just made up). Oh and as a sidenote, AMD's TDP rating of "tommorow" will then be pretty much simular to Intel's rating, which it is not as of today.

It was from a friend working at AMD. I posted it in the K8L-Thread too and some guy there thinks its a fake. He zoomed in and i have to say that i believe him.
