This results are with a lower clocked version and beta drivers! If they are true R600 will beat even a oc 8800GTX.

jus wonderin how i thought this card would blow away the g80 out of existence but let jus say it even added another 5% lead over the g80 i still dont see the reason to buy a r600 over an already price decreasing g80 as 2007-2008 will still be dx9 dominant years!!!!

@dejavuxx: Why 5%? The lower clocked version with betadrivers is about 18% faster in the gamebenches. With higher clocks and finaldrivers we could see 25-30% more than a 8800GTX.

What, for a single card?! I hope you don't honestly think this, cause the market would scoff at it (what, $2000 dollars for xfire, hahahaha), and I don't think this would be wise in light of this: http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=126036

This is what I'd expect from the card mind you its only running beta drivers and such. Question is how much preformance difference will there really be between the DDR3 and DDR4 versions, and what version was tested in that.

Me I'd love to get the DDR4, but I can't wait that long. Double the preformacne if nto more of what im getting right now in my poorly clocked X1900XT im game for it. Sure price is a little on the northern side but oh well thats what I get for only wanting to run 1 GPU on a 24" monster.

I would have expected a bit higher FPS but drivers on both sides sux still but I don't think it will be such a huge difference between better drivers either. Entry lvl new gen Nvidia cards are sligthly faster this time around (compared to 7800GTX 256MB & X1800XTX) IF these results aren't faked. But why are the FPS results soooooo low with both those setups? Will be interested to see comparisions when both have better driver support as I do think Nvidia almost on purpose wanted to delay good drivers a bit due to R600. More tests needs to be seen before drawing any conclusions.

However results might be very different in DX10 games but by the time first DX10 games are out G81 is already waiting at the doorstep.

questionable numbers, lacking of required information, and stating of things we kind of know.. hmmm

They get a lot of technical information wrong too, and like others have said earlier, the numbers for the other cards look very off.

People just like to jump on the first numbers that come out, doesn't matter from where. To demonstrate how easy it is to convincingly fake performance numbers, take a look at something I whipped up... (watch it end up on Inq tomorrow)
