I'm still messing around trying to get this board running nice, clockgen keeps hardlocking the PC no matter what which is making life difficult, but it will boot to windows at 9 x 400 2:3 DDR2 1200 - 1066 strap no problem.

Very nice. Compared to P5B:
The big question (at least for me ) is what happens with 4/5 divider and about 450 FSB. Could you please run that at multi 8 or 9?
Too bad clockgen isnt working. Curious how far you can get booting at 400 and cg up using 4/5 divider. Thanks for testing.
Can someone please confirm if this board operates as two x8 pci express slots or one x16 and the other x4 when two cards are slotted in.
Thanks.
James.

I'm also curious how the other x16 slot performs... I want to use a graphics card in the primary x16 slot and an Areca RAID card in the other slot... hoping it will run x16 on the primary and x4 (or x8) on the secondary.Originally Posted by jsbond007
Can anyone confirm by spec or BIOS, the x16 slot options for this board?
Thanks!
Thank you for testing. Seems right on par with P5B.Originally Posted by HermS
Thanks for asking, that's exactly what I want to know too and exactly the same reason why! The manual says the second slot is for graphics wth Crossfire support and says nothing about other types of PCIe cards. Without any PCIe x1 slots, only PCI, if you can't add any other PCIe devices it'll be practically unique for a new mainboard, very odd indeed.Originally Posted by virtualrain

For the U.S buyers eWiz.com has this Asus Commando for $215. compare to Zipzoomfly list as $299 & back order
Not sure if it's typo on the price or not, but I ordered once.

ewiz doesn't actually have it in stock, and when they do get it in stock with will be a few days after other e-tailers get it. My friend tried to order his 8800GTX from them and they were tricky like that. They list it as in stock to see how many people buy it and to estimate popularity...

Yeah, I'm using the same PLL as with the P5B, but sometimes even moving 1MHz from stable settings will hard lock, other times it works and then sometimes it won't even read the clocks... wierd stuff man. I'm gonna try setFSB and see how that fares.Originally Posted by Dani
