I can mod Core 8 code yes but as Stilt says you will have to boot once with 1 dimm, then set defaults where the 2V kicks in and reboot.
if you want me to do this i will have to get the tools off my workstation, im in Vegas now for CES.

Does the Commando support CF with the future ATI cards? I read somewhere that most boards couldn't it as the new cards had the new internal CF thing instead of master + slave.
I think I read somewhere that the new ATI/AMD graphics cards (R600) when in crossfire mode require the full x16 lanes for its operation. If this is the case, maybe the driver will reject the crossfire functionality with two R600 cards in place, maybe, I don't know.Originally Posted by Yay for Cheese
This Commando board in crossfire mode offers one slot at x16 and the other slot at x4. So if the above logic is correct, this board will not support the new ATI/AMD graphics cards in crossfire mode.
what the hell is AMD/ATI doing with CF...they seem to be boxing themselves in huge corner with virtually no 2 x16 pci-e mobos out..do they think people will only buy a mobo to support there graphics cars..nope, only a few extreme enthusiasts would do that...it appears they will kill themselves with this stupidtyOriginally Posted by RichUK
Also to drop intel chipset support is moronic...you may as well kick your competition at its own game and have a part of there market share and yours as well....

When you think about it, Nvidia has done this all along. Only a nvidia sli board could run sli until hacked drivers became available that enabled it to run on Intel chipsets. Nvidia's monoploy worked and sold fine as we all know.Originally Posted by nealh

Does the Commando seem to be generally a faster board? maybe a lil more stable with stuff? Or is there still no noticeable improvement on speed and oc ability?
Because ive been seriously considering getting this or the DFI RD600 and I cant seem to make up my mind, the independent memory clocking is a really nice feature and thats whats makin me lean towards the RD600. Could anyone elaborate on any of this, because specifically with my P5B Deluxe my ram latency goes through the roof running anything over 400fsb because of the strap, so being able to run say like DDR2 1000 or 1100 at a 400fsb sounds really good, anyone know?
WTF please don't tell me this is with 1066 strapOriginally Posted by ziberia

one more question this high FSB was clockgened to such MHz from sub-400MHz FSB boot to stay in the 1066 strap right?
Wow, thats incredibly impressive. Please do tell if you had to clockgen to get there and was it a cascade or single stage used.Originally Posted by Dani

Well I think I'm going to get this board, however I guess the underlying question I hadnt thought of is... Did they fix the god forsaken 4:5 divider running like crap and crashing and generally being unstable?
pls check this for meOriginally Posted by dinos22

today arrived my E6400 Rev. L2
Max FSB is 480 (watercooled)
in a few days arrive 3 X6800, i hope one of them do more than 500FSB
Edit: Rev. L2 has very good temps (or is it a coretemp failure?)

Arg.. I can't get the "soundcard" installed on my Asus Commando (I've just recived it), I'm always getting an UAA High Definition Audio error. I've installed the KB835221 and KB888111 hotfixs but still getting the UAA error.
Anyone ?
Edited: Problem solved !
