But most people here do not use low end mobos. We use high end boards. For things like benchmarking, most C2D users prefer to run with 400+ FSB. Hard to do that with a high multiplier like a 12 or 13, unless you're using sub-zero cooling.

I will be using it as cheap cruncher in my P5W, and that board is limited at a little over 450FSb, so the higher the multiplier the better
If you want a high fsb, just lower the multi.
Are you able to run 450X11, 450X12 or 450X13? By high multiplier, I'm talking about anything above 11.

    1Mb vs 2Mb

Or were you talking about something different perkam?

David: Thats true, but I was more like getting that CPU (or many of them as its said to be sub 160$) for cheap, nice performing crunchers with not that expensive boards. Its perfect for that cause.

Okay, I understand what you're saying. Right now, I have one cruncher running at 400X9. I could run 329X11 instead. But since my system does 400X9 easily, I just leave it at that.

With high multiplier I mean something like 9 (E4300), or 10.

Now that I think about it, almost all my last CPUs had a multi of 9 lol.

When are those with an FSB of 1333 MHz coming? I heard Q3 2007, which is not really soon by my standards.

Hasn't the E4300 already been over clocked over here, or have I missed something?

    Perkam

    Not Core 2 Duo based?

P.S. does this mean that E6600 will remain in their offering beside 6650?
It looks like they are just expanding their offer, cool

duh nice to see the new list and everybody is or happy with the high multi on the E4xxx series and unhappy on the Exx50 series... but don't you need a new mobo for these 1333 parts? if so bad thing from Intel! that's the third 775board in 1 year.....

No need, just a bios upgrade, maybe

Depends on chipset, there currently is no chipset from Intel itself that officially support the higher FSB. NVIDIA's 680i does support it and I think you will be able to plug these CPUs in a 680i board with just a BIOS upgrade. I also heard that ATI's RD600 was build to support the higher FSB but that Intel won't give ATi (now AMD that's probably why) a license.

RD600 doesn't support 1333, at least not officially, intel won't licsence it for them. However, im pretty confident it will work.

alot of 965 boards already have support (unofficial support) of 1333mhz fsb, and some 975 boards do to.

What i am wondering is if these boards will run default 1333 strap, as that would mean worse performance then thier 1066 counterparts.
