    E6600(OEM) on P5B Dlx Overclocking

    Well to start this off I got this system in August '06 and have since tweaked it to where it is now, most of this with using these forums. And this is the end result, however I would like to maybe get some input on what I could change to maybe make it a little faster.

    Mounted Arctic Cooling Freezer 7pro (unlapped) using AS5 thermal paste (line technique) on the chip only has about 50hrs of breakin on it. Idles at 30-35C depending on ambient, and under load is 40-45C (TAT 100% Load)

    I have it currently running Orthos (set to Priority9) @ +24hr with 2 seperate Blend and SmallFFT stress's completely stable I play a dozen different games on it.

    Other Notable things about the system-
    ATI X1900XTX 512mb @ 701/802 on 1.45v averaging about (13500 -13700 on 3dMark05 default settings)
    Idle - 30-35C maxload (oblivion)- I saw 55c max
    using Catalyst 6.11beta drivers with X1950 driver mod saw about a 150-200point increase across the board using these few tweaks.
    might be a point of interest for anyone running a similar setup that wants to know how it performs. If you need Cat 6.11's lemme know ill post em.
    Using Catalyst 6.11beta driver modded to be X1950's (if you wanna know where to get the 6.11s just lemme know)
    Using this setup on same clocks I actually saw a 150-200pt difference from 6.10 to 6.11 using the same X1950 driver mod (only abut a 100pts from 6.10 to 6.11 with ATI Tray Tools most recent beta release with a few choice adv tweaks). And about another 50-60pt difference using the X1950 drivers over the X1900 ones might be an interesting lil note for some people running a similar setup.

    Currently 400x8 @ 1.3125v in bios

    Last 4 Timings in P5B Dlx memory config set from 10 10 10 10 to 3 10 5 10
    Memory Voltage - 2.10v in bios
    all the standard things are set to disabled.
    onboard audio disabled
    some voltages for NB, FSB, SBvcore are all set to like 1.45~ around there with SBVcore being 1.6v

    Stuff not in Everest Report----

    Case - CoolerMaster Praetorian 730 (black) with thermaltake high flow 120mm and 80mm fans
    Powersupply - OCZ Game XStream 700w
    used the old CM fans including the 120mm in various spots of modded brackets inside the case. dual 80mm up at the top to pull air from the top vent (5.25 with nothing in it and some use of foam to seat around the fans to increase pull from the vent. 120mm mounted outside the case as an exhaust over the HSF already in place,(also helps with the heat produced by my vid cards.)

    UPS- CyberPower 900w with LCD great little UPS if I do say so.
    And a Vantec Nexus 4 fan controller.

    The silver deal you see under the 2 opticals is a HDD cooler for the raptor, brings temp down and makes it quieter imo.

    Overall pretty quiet case considering how many fans are in it, and those thermaltake fans I put in place of the CM ones are perfect for that case.

    3 seperate runs of SuperPI 1M calc just to show what it does over a few tests of it.

    Id like to get it to 400x9 stable, or maybe overclock the ram havent quite found anything that works yet. I play with it when im not working or on some game heh. First time getting into overclocking anything I always ran default and wanted to get a lil more outta my system and learn some stuff to. I also have some SS of 3dMark05 (13552 on ATI X1900XTX 512mb 702/802 @ 1.45v on Accerlero X2) Been quite fun messing around with all of it, I have modded my case somewhat to maximize airflow on the various parts of the system. other stuff to note, Unmodded Mobo, havent lapped the HSF or processor and a couple other minor things.


    I got some more info coming as I try different configs. Any advice/comments are welcomed.

    What kind of cooling are you using? Runs quite cool you know, my 6300 got 70 with 100% TAT load (in the summer of course) now it gets 50 with water cooling.

    Arctic Cooling Freezer 7pro with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, only has about 50hrs of break in on it though. Recommended is like in 200hr range to reach the best thermal conductivity so it might even go lower.

    hell it would be nicer if it would just run 400x9 stable for me lol... Im still tweaking the memory trying to get the timings and what not as tight as I can get

    Anyone got some pointers on maybe something I can do? or do better?

    This is the longest post i have ever seen. What do you mean if 400x9 run stable for you? Mine seems to have a similiar problem, I have gotten it to run 400-500x8 before but it only post at those numbers when it feels like it.

    Well it runs games and everything but fails any stress test miserably at 400x9. it boots perfectly 400x8 and not a bit of problem with it posting or doing anything. Im not really sure, maybe I need to tweak the ram and might get a lil more outta it.

    It may be cpu related? I know my games run fine up to 3.78 with no problems for hours but will fail orthos and prime after 5 mins or so with anything over 3.670.
