That would be truly insane (probably very cold too!) but probably a bit too costly.

luke R23 boils at -82.1c @ 1 atm,how much vacuum are you running to get -130.2c

    r23 is -111c @ 0.2 psi

    you won't hold any load

WD, the r23 is low stage of autoc, the -130C is coming from r14.

my sleep apnea/insomnia acted up real bad again this week,as I type this ,I haven't even slept 1 minute since I woke up Sunday morning 5:30 am. Been up from Sunday morning to now Thursday 12:26 am,hope to sleep soon.with no sleep,my short term memory is the first to go and I didn't read the entire thread again before I made that post. These come and go and Docs can't figure out why.

Besides when this tired ,by the time I got to the second page ,I would have forgotten what the first page said.

noob, when I start typing real bad or with awful grammer or spelling you can bet I'm having one of these attacks.

I just wanted you guys to know if I don't make sense ,I having a insomnia attack, as I don't or ever do illegal drugs,I was a social drinker until I completely quite that 11 years ago also.

Luke sorry for the hijack but "you thought I cared about your education",well the truth is I care about everyone's education and to instill safe work ethics.I found out ,by hiring employees, If you start taking shortcuts or risks you pick up bad habits that are hard to break, Then possible you will do those the rest of your life.

We are all Born with a empty hard drive, some will be better with electronics, some the mechanical end, what I,m trying to say is we all have certain skills and have to go thru a learning curve.

    Wdrzal -

Cascade is now running with R290/R23 on I stage, second stage is charged with R14 That plate HX is amazing, without it I wouldn`t condense R14

    I didn`t use R170 because...I don`t have it, still no news from Unknown_road

    Room temp was about 17-18*C

BTw, I`ve got today -115*C loaded...for 3-4 minutes, after that time I stage wasn`t able to hold that much load, hehe, with more R23 it will work great !

    Thanks guys !

Wdrzal, I stage high side pressure is about 18bar under load, in second stage that pressure is about 20-21bar (I know that II stage discharge is pretty high, but that is caused by undercharged I stage and too warm HX temps).

Cut-off swiches will turn off compressors at 25bar.

Damn... 300 psi or about? Time to work harder on HX temp Luke. I am pretty sure you can get another 5-10c hiding there with lower 1st stage temp
Now, I have some suspicions but would like to hear from you first.
#1) How hot does 2nd stage compressor get when it is under full load for say about an hour?
#2) What was cap tubing sizing used on 2nd stage?
After all, condensing on cascade is balance between HX temp and restriction forced on refrigerant and wondering maybe it is TOO restrictive where your pressure is artificially inflated and causing too much heatdump on HX. Just some quick thought...

    1. About 100*C under heavy load, maybe 5*C hotter
    2. I used (if I remember correctly) 2,7m of 0,8mm captube (9 feet of 0,031" captube)

so Jin you think, that I have too long captube and it`s just additional load for HX ?

I`m thinking about adding one more SLHX before main HX, it will help with lowering load on I stage I think. I`ve got one SLHX on II stage, after main HX, it`s helping with condensing R14 a little bit

and bw, those 300psi discharge is only when load applied, at idle (huh) II stage high side pressure is 15 bar. I`m pretty sure that it will be low too at load, when I will tune I stage well. I stage charge isn`t enough to hold even 100W load at all (In my opinion, I see static charge)

nice work there lukeXe, bet ya wrapped ya got that r14, and even more wrapped with the temps.
luke did you experience any oil clogging with r14?
is it straight r14 in that second stage or some r290 and r23 as well?
