    AS5 Burn-in 'results' (anomaly)

    Odd.

    Installed a TRUE. Loaded it with BLEND on Orthos - ~40 IHS, and 60 on the hottest on core sensor (Everest gives me three readings, two for the core, one for the whole 'chip')

    After many benching sessions to test out the cooling capacity of the TRUE, I tried small FFT's, just for kicks.

    ~39-40 IHS, hottest core 55-57.

    Huh?

    Bios reads out 1.46 vcore. I've tried setting that value manually and with a 110% vid special for CnQ.

    I've been having some AS5 + true issues too.
    I get more or less the same temps (haven't tried coretemp, but I doubt It'll give me any readings, nothing but asusprobe does), I think it might have something to do with the curvature in the the true's contact surface, which is curved to fit the (once) curved IHS of the C2D's. When turned 90 degress, the curvatures of the two surfaces do not match up, thus causing the elevated heat levels.
    If you try lapping both the true and the ihs, then I assure you you would see an incredible drop in temperatures.

    The one thing I was trying to note was that the burn in of AS5 somehow didn't affect the IHS temp, but rather changed the actual die temperature.

    How odd.
