    Possible mods

I can't help but notice the board is essentially the same board as its higher end counterpart with 8 phase vreg and 2 16x PCIe slots. The only thing missing is the longer PCIe slot (which they substituted with a 1x slot) and 4 sets of vreg ICs (evidently from the pic, this board has a 4 phase power supply).

It ain't hard to solder surface mounts on it to make it an 8-phase board. Desolder the 1x PCIe slot and replace it with a 16x slot, and we might just have ourselves a full blown P5B (DLX??) board.

Too bad the DS3 ain't using the same board as DQ6

According to Asus P5B-E Plus is indeed a 8 phase design:

    http://zeus.asus.com/products4.aspx?...1=3&l2=11&l3=0

(The above link is not accessible from the normal product list - so it might be unofficial...)

EDIT: It might be that info is just a copy-paste from Deluxe model...

it will be better imo because it allows for 2.4v through the ram which only a certain revision of the p5b-e allows. i think i can hold out for another month so i can get a RD600 or the new NF chipset.

It looks pretty good; the PWM circuitry is the same as the P5B-D, albeit naked. The NB hoops are a new addition, though the push-holes for a heatpipe dealie are still there.

Change wise, though, the bottom x16 slot is now a x4 slot - exactly what it's rated as on the P5B-D, the second Gigabit Ethernet (shown as the blank solder pad at the bottom left of the board) is vacant, and the WiFi module has hit the trail. So in essence, it's like having an Ultra-D versus shelling for an SLI-D, or if you wanted teh WAP version, a -DR or Expert

Theoretically, the easiest way to fit a second x16 card here is to snip out the back of the x4 slot, just like what many MFGs have included...

    - ASUS PEG Link - Automatically performance tuning for graphics card
    - ASUS AI Booster utility
    Precision Tweaker:
    - vCore: Adjustable CPU voltage at 6.25mV increment
    - vDIMM: 13-step DRAM voltage control

yes, that is what a ds3 owner would say << tweaker smilie >>>

"In bestelling, 1 tot 10 werkdagen ( oftewel 10 werkdagen :p , pre-order , levertijd onbekend, oranje - levertijd is onbekend, 6 tot 10 werkdagen ( oftewel weer 10 dagen en Dit product heeft op dit moment een onbekende levertij "

they are not in stock I think you haven`t realy looked @ all . The Dutch webshops say that this board is "in stock" , with "in stock" I mean, I order one, and the next day I have the board. Good webshops ( the bigger ons, like in germany ) have the boards realy " in stock" because they have a supply

Yeah ok but what do you expect... the board is just new. But still no one answered my question: does this board OC better than the P5B-Deluxe (with D9 RAM)?

I expect nothing, your words were : It's for sale already in the Netherlands and it`s not , they are taking pre-orders.

since the board is new, nobody has it, so nobody can answer your question

I have this board. The difference between the plus version, and the p5B-e is the components. The ones on the plus are of a higher grade, for instance solid cap capacitors throughout the whole board. Just a much better over clocker then the normal p5b-e.

What other boards besides Gigabytes DS3/4/DQ6 and this one have solid capacitors?

This one is still not available in the US?

if the price is the same as the P5B-E i think its a great choice .

the New revison 1.02G of the P5B-E comes with :

    --2.4 Vdim

    --vMCH

    --ICH8R

    --- chipset 965 C2

What i dont understand is why only Rev 1.02G of P5B-E come with this specs.

ALL of P5B-E mobos should come with that specs because when ppl buy the board we cant see if its 1.02G or 1.01G , that suks :

its a lot of important diferences between the both mobos , and the price is the same , its very stupid

    regards

    Some 1.01G also have P965 C2 chipset.
    Best Regards,
    Xavier

Just Asus' 680i Striker and also their upcoming Commando (which I think will be available in the US.) I would prefer a low-cost alternative like the P5B-E plus however. I don't understand why Asus would keep this from the N. American market.

    Antec NeoH500W
    MSI 6600LE(just for testing)

This monstrum run 569MHz, and it is prime stable, but my CPU is limit (CPU Wall), so tomorrow we will test new E6600 29B, perhaps I will go over 590MHz.

well, mine doesn't go like hell because of huge drop (40mV) and crappy vcore (1.7V in bios, 1.6V measured by speedfan) :/
    I need to mod it...
