Join me in my E6750 overclocking adventure.

    Ok, so quick specs...

    Abit IP35 Pro mobo
    E6750 G0 C2D
2x1gb PQI DDR2 6400... (this stuff cost me a whopping $65 bucks at frys!!!)
    EVGA GeForce 7800GT CO
    SATA HD's, and SATA DVD
Generic 500 watt PSU that came with a crappy $60 mid tower at Best Buy

Let me mention, this is a secondary box I'm building, my main system will be:

    Abit IP35 Pro
    G0 Q6600
    2x2gb Mushkin DDR2
7800GT CO until the 9X series is released
    2x78gb Raptor's RAID 0
    CMaster Stacker
    550watt PPC&C PSU

Basically, I tossed this setup together tonight as I wanted to test the E6750 as an overclocker, it will run at stock on a ECS M33 board as my file server, but for now, I'll see what it does.

Also... I am testing a Coolit Eliminator TEC water cooling system, you all know of it, so far I am mighty impressed, I am using AS5 in place of the stock goop.

The temps seem skewed though, no way in hell am I idling at 8 and 9c.

First run... booted into an old copy of Windows, set the system to 8x400 all stock voltages and tweaks, SuperPi 1m at 16sec.

Then stability, OCCT ran for 30 and passed first test.

Max recorded load temp through Coretemp was 33c, Speedfan was 33c and uGuru was 38c.

First screenshot attached... where will this system end up??? Remember, I am using some of the cheapest DDR2 on the planet. 1:1 5,5,5,16

BTW... any idea of why my voltage is so high? It's set to auto in the BIOS.

Second shot... 8x450, I bumped the vcore up a touch, 1.4 or something, beats me, this board aint anything like my old DFI was.

    Anyways, quick superpi run.

Hey... anyone want to tell me how I can access dividers through the BIOS? What I mean is, it's like all I can do is set the RAM to 1:1 and 1:2 etc.

Why can't I set it to 1:.5 or something, you know, stress the CPU and let the ram slack off... and what about the FSB, isn't there a way to adjust it out? I mean, let's say my cpu can do 4ghz, but the mobo can't run at 500mhz... how do I slice that up?

It was easy with the DFI, is it not possible on the P35 chipset?

    Thanks all!

    3.8ghz... superpi.

    8x475 mem still at 1:1.

Temps seem low, I don't think I'm getting accurate information from the programs.

Anyhow, here's the shot of it.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too... based on room temps at the time, taking that into consideration it seems temps are being reported about 10c too low. Now if thats' the case, then my load temps of 44c are actually 54c.

Is that pretty good for such settings and tests?

    Anyhow, some more testing:

    3.6ghz... 30 min OCCT stable.

    Room temp: 26.6c.

    Idle Temp: 13c.

    Load during test: 44c.

ive been running my 6750 for a couple of weeks now, but have only managed to get a fsb of 462 to come stable with a core voltage of 1.52 and a vdimm of 2.4 on geil 6400 esoteria. Im using the ip-35 pro as well...

I cant seem to break the 3.7ghz, though my watercooling is not up quite yet... at load i see a temp of 49-53c.

What are your settings? I'd like to try to apply them, not much info about e6750's and the ip35 pro...

Also in the BIOS i cannot set a multiplier of more than 8, ie the 9 options is not there any ideas?

new cpu-z 1.40.9 beta shows correct temps now

the 6750 max multi is 8, cant raise it like the extreme intel cpu's

btw , nice results so far GRAFiZ

    Some more playing around tonight...

    SuperPi run at 3.92ghz.

I'm hoping to reach the magical 4.0 sometime tonight, I'll see.

Also... I got ahold of a brand new EVGA 680i SLI A1 today, gonna run it through it's paces this weekend and do a direct head to head with my Abit IP-35. I will personally answer the question... "which one overclocks better?" Also... I have a brand new Q6600 G0 sitting here in front of me... some deal, sometime in the next few days I'll compare the two boards with quad overclocking and see which tops out.

    Wish me luck all!

Here's 3.95ghz... all same settings, bumped the voltage on my $65 buck PQI 6400 RAM up to 2.3v.

Too high for day to day, but fine for testing.

Now that's what I'm talking about.

As stable as if Intel designed it that way!
