Lets see if you can still do it 1:1 4-4-4. It's MUCH harder. Don't forget, I can pull 13:4x at 3-3-3 1:1...if I was able to use the updividers, then yes, I think I could pull 13:05-13:10...but this is on 975 of course. Once again try 1:1 4-4-4 yourself for a direct comparison, and you should understand my confusion. 13:5x 1:1 4-4-4 makes sense for 13:0x at 2:3 4-4-4. BIG gap in those two dividers.

Also, it seems like maybe the 965 loses its edge at high FSB?

Damn.. the P5B is already phased out.. P5B-s is exactly the same board, but this time they have made the Raid correctly..

Replacing a board in less than 6 weeks. I think it's a first.

If it could hold the 333 strap and clock up to 400 from there, it probably would, but it starts crapping out around 360-370FSB so it's either gotta be 2:3 or boot at 400FSB, which is definitely looser on the NB.

Andre, how come all your Graphics come up as 1x AGP in CPU-Z? I've been seeing that on your screenies for a week or so now and I was wondering what was up? Thanks for showing the C2...I'll be real curious how high it clocks

AGP 1X because I Use PCI VGA Card to test CPU and mobo.

The memory voltage is only 2.1V. I cannot be oc so higher. I must wait ASUS to get me new bios.

    I don't think 965 chip is slower than 975X.

I use win2003 sever, so Super PI is faster than winxp.

I'm using Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise Edition) as well. If I don't change memory timings using Memset, I score about 14:10 at these clocks, whereas you hit 13:54. 965 looks a lot faster to me, unless Asus gives more memory options for 975 in the future.

I already tested 975X 3.6G now. I will post speed later. It's still faster than 965chip.

I didn't change memory timings using Memset on 965 chip because Memset always cannot support 965chip. I always use BIOS to tweak memory timming for my 965 mobo.

If SuperPi is your thing, then 975X is the way to go. If overclocking RAM or the FSB is your thing, 965 is probably a better choice. On my P5B Dlx, I've managed to run my Corsairs at 600MHz with 4-4-3 timings. Not many unmodded 975X boards can do that.

I don't run 3DMark anymore, but I do run Cinebench. Rendering performance with 965 chipset seems as good, if not a little better than 975X, clock for clock.

These are just my findings. YMMV.

SuperPi is never my thing, no matter how hard I try. As for the 600MHz 4-4-3, I don't think ANY 975X can do that, 965 4-4-4, but tRP 3 seems like a first.

A couple of other people have done DDR2-1200 @ 4-4-3. You definitely need good sticks.

memset supports 965 100% and has for god way over a month now.

I use 975X to test Conroe 3.6G again.

It has many bugs. If you use 965 memset, you will see CPUZ memory is error.

In my limited testing, I found that out of 4 SuperPi runs on both platforms the P5W beat the P5B D by just a bit. Like an average of 4-5 seconds on 8M Pi runs. Same clocks, timings, everything.

Maybe the C2 stepping will improve that.

Still strange why my 4-4-4 result is slow.

Felix said over a month how to make it work properly.
and it works 100% for me everytime.

when you use Memset DO NOT HIT EXIT!!! YOU MUST HIT THE X BUTTON IN THE UPPER CORNER.

i cant believe you missed that he said this like a dozen times already. and i been telling people the same things.

    now use memset silly :P
