How bout BT vs. Ninja? whats the final verdict on that. The Ninja is being sold at good prices right now with fan and other accesories. It's actualyl better priced then the BT.

Nice , what are your results with the multi @ 9 ? Eva has emailed asus for more mem settings in the bios ( for the non deluxe ), maybe he can do the same for the deluxe? Question, where and how did you get your ES 6600 ?

Yea, false starts seem common with the P5B-D. I *think* it's the same for all P965 boards, but I'm not sure. I think I remember people with DS3s asking about it.

^^ That happens to me too. IIRC, it starts happening around 400FSB (maybe 425?).

Just got my P5B Dlx yesterday. Board is 100% stock for this first screenie, only thing I did was update the BIOS from 204->507 and drop a fan over the mem/NB (NB still had the "cover" on it). Mem is on AUTO, obviously

Changed out the stock NB sink today for an HR-05 + AS5 still no volt mods or anything on the board:

I need to fix the undervolt and droop and will then see about 4.2GHz+, but this is the max bootable from BIOS on this board so far (proc is on water)

Damn, nice speeds. The false start happens to me even at stock, so I think it's a 'feature'

Just noticed it's an ES. Boo :P

Thanks, I was honestly very surprised at the FSB it reached pretty easily. I am sure the double boot thing didn't start on mine until I was up in the FSB...maybe it has something to do with a BIOS setting as for when it happens? It's definitely seems like something "built into" the board or BIOS though, probably like the hard reboots the ASUS 955/975 boards have over ~240FSB on the P4s

Thats under NB voltage, have you tried using a lower multipliere with the higher FSB speeds? most probably not the mobo but poor clocking CPU.

Quick question, how did you deal with the heat pipe on the NB sink. Where did you cut it off?

Me too and that's one heck of annoying crap. But I've learned to live with it.

I also don't like that for any change that I make in the AIBooster the system has to reboot, unlike in the P5WD2-P's AIBooster where you could increase the OC and would take it little by little..........though it got to a point where you needed to reboot but still, it allow for a few more fsb settings before the reboot process. Not cool IMO.

I didn't cut anything, just removed the whole thing from the NB and the MOSFETs and put the new sink on the NB...MOSFETs are bare right now.

The AIB on my P5W DH was the same way...I think this "has to reboot" for any change is specific to the ASUS Conroe-ready boards regardless of chipset or AIB software. I haven't messed with the OC profiles in the BIOS...does it load those AFTER the desktop loads? If so, it might be an option for some extra clocks. I can't wait til there's a SetFSB or Clockgen for these!!

Guys I need some help here. Got my P5B deluxe WiFi board today. Hooked everything up and go to start it up...I get nothing. Nothing on the screen, No POST, No beeps,...nothing.

Retail E6400 w/stock HS, PQI DDR2 800 (PC6400), GeForce 7900GT, 250GB WD SATA 3.0Gb/s HD, Hyper 580watt PSU, and of course the Asus P5B Deluxe.

I'm pretty pissed right now. I looked through the manual and it says that if there are no beeps and no POST then to check connections, jumpers, and if still nothing contact seller. I took the drives off to reduce any chance of bad connections. So all I had was the SATA drive connected to the SATA 1 connection on the Mobo. I checked the GPU and the RAM and both are seated exactly as they should be. Still not POSTing.

I don't know if anyone has had this problem on this board and has any insight. My first guess right now is the board is DOA. What do you think? Mobo problem for sure? Time to send it back?

UPDATE: After reading a newegg review on my RAM (except 2x512MB instead of 1GB stick) I see someone else could not get there's to work in the P5B deluxe. Sounds like he used a spare set of RAM to boot and then flash BIOS so it would support his RAM. Maybe this is due to the high Voltage of the RAM (2.0V stock). Here is the link to where you can see the review...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Custra...82E16820141064. Does this seem like a feasable reason why I would be getting NOTHING...not even a POST?

Sounds about right. Have you tried with one stick in? Mine wouldn't boot with two, but one of them would let me get into the bios to change the vdimm.

Edit: you only have 1x1gb? You might be hosed

LOL yep. What kind of RAM do you have and what is it's voltage. I might get up tomorrow and see if I can track some cheap DDR2 with correct voltage to see if that works. If not then the board goes back. I really hope it is just the ram. Hopefully also this place my family goes locally to get stuff will let me borrow a stick to see if ti works so I don't have to buy it.

Alternatively do you think that askng for a new updated BIOS chip would fix the problem? That would probably be my last alternative but would be nice to know.

The P5B-Deluxe doesn't have a BIOS chip You can't replace it like you can with the P5W-DH.

I have OCZ 6400 Platinum ram which 'requires' 2.1v.

I used my Corsair XMS2's which are rated at 2.1v and it booted fine, sure I got an CPU error but that's becaues of the 0204 BIOS and use my 256MB flash drive to update the BIOS and everything worked.

Do you see the blue ASUS logo light up inside? If so, try checking the power switch plug, the one connected at the bottom right hand side. The Reset and Power pins are so close to each other that I didn't plug the Power correctly which caused my system not to boot but the LED light was on.......so check that up. should be: .._.. / Space in between the Reset and Power pins.

LOL you know as I submitted that I realized it didn't have a BIOS chip. It's been one long night. That sucks though...I like that feature.

Hum ok I'm thinking more and more that it's the RAM. Does anyone know more about this? Like was it changed in a newer BIOS and that my "no POST" is a symptom of this? Looking for as much feedback as possible so I can troubleshoot this as fast as possible.

    Thanks aggybong!
