This is a rehash of the evercool silver knight which was worse than the arctic cooling freezer pro. For $50, get a tuniq tower. For $65, get the enzotech.

    THANK YOU!

no, i have not seen this review...i am kind of curious if he lapped that bottom to a nice shinny surface, would it have made a significant difference....i'll see by the weekend!

the other thing i noticed is the attaching point mount for his opteron...i have an intel which uses a 4 point mount which could mean more pressure and therefore, better heat transfer.

i also noticed in his review, which is very good, that he did not mention what kind of thermal paste used...small things like that point to flaws, at least in his write up.

OH MAN! ...you need to read my specs before making that kind of comment!..i have a tuniq in the closet because my TR Ultra Xtreme HS is doing a slightly better job at cooling....good comparison coming up!

saw your specs dude...it was meant more as a general piece of advice for anyone reading this thread for what to spend their $50 on instead of this...btw, my evercool silver knight makes for an interesting paperweight, lol...

It's still a paperweight now, but it was briefly on a badaxe trying to get an e6600 to 3.6ghz. It would boot into windows - that's it. After a TTBT VX orthos blend was no problem. The only decent thing I could say was that it did light up pretty cool, lol!

Going to try a tuniq on my incoming e6850/pk5/ballistix tracers pc2 8500's.

Give it up dude, it's not a good cooler!

Anyways, no lap and used mx-1.

From the reviews and analysis, it does make sense. The liquid circuit and volume are too small to make any significant effective high power cooling, akin to those mini-liquid cooling systems that are very mediocre.

the reviewer disconnected the pump and the temp spiked about 20C..so, the pump does it job...it might come down to not enough heat pipes to circulate the fluid to be air cooled....do you know what the CFM output of the 100 mm fan is advertised for?...Kingwin does not make a mention of it in the specs.

i would bet if they redesign this puppy with a good 120 mm fan that it would do a far better job of cooling!...of course, the size of this baby is nothing to sneeze at.

i will see if i can mount a higher volume 90 mm fan on it...when i remove the mobo, i will get some readings for the Ultra outside of the case so i can compare when i put the gladiator on...i will use their fan first and then try mounting some other variations....i know there is negative vibes over this cooler but there is a few things that can be done to improve the cooling capacity of this HS.

I have an AMD FX-60 Dual Core processor...
Based on your experience, which air cooler which you recommend me using.
I mainly use my system for gaming and programming and would like my CPU very cold.
    Thanks in advance...

the HS looks like it has a proprietary fan...i would avoid that kind of heatsink.

    Question

Does anyone have or know any reviews for the Thermalright HR-01 Plus? I've been googling around & all I get is the non-Plus version...& the only Plus version I found was in German.

Is it better than their Ultra-120 Extreme?

    Thanks.

I would go for the Big Typhoon but i'm not sure if it'd fit in my case because its 15cm high and that's all the space I have between the mobo and the side of the case. Could I chance buying it ?

Have you looked into the thermalright ultima 90 first? You would get far better performance.
