    E6600 Batch# L640F025

    This is not a review, just sharing some info. I bought this on Sunday and mounted it on my BX2. Anyway, I found no information on the batch number when I googled for it, so I'm posting my results here for reference. The package date is 02/12/2007.

    The first surprising thing about this chip is that while it is a voltage hog, it runs cool. I'm currently maxed out on voltages on the BX2 @ 412x9 @ 3.71 Ghz orthos small ffts stable. There has been a lot of talk about the poor clocking capabilities of new conroes but I'm sure I could take this to 4.0 Ghz on water if I could feed it enough voltage. The AW9D-Max does 1.725v. on the vcore, so should give me some more headroom. If folks are intereted, I will post some scores.

    Idle = 24-27
    Load= 51-55 (orthos small ffts)
    Room temp= 75f

    51C to 55C under Othos load, stable, at 1.6v on air?

    What cooler are you using?

    I just convinced myself to keep my Pentium D a while longer
    and get a quad later on but now...

    Sorry, should have mentioned I'm using water cooling. TT Big Water 745. Not the best in the business. Watercooling both my NB and CPU on the same loop.

    Show some stability. Quick 32mb Pi,OCCT,3DMark06, & finally at least 8 hours orthos blend. While your temps are impressive, it means very little if its not stable.
