    Talking P5W DH vdimm pencil mod - tRP 3 = tRP 4 ?

    Well i did it.. grew some balls and decided to do the vdimm pencil mod http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=3876

    The default multimeter measured vdimm was as follows

    bios setting = default real = pencil mod result

    AUTO = N/A = 2.040v
    1.80v = N/A = 2.040v
    1.90v = N/A = 2.040v
    1.95v = N/A = 2.088v
    2.00v = 2.007v = 2.118v (-0.03v droop) = 2.088v
    2.05v = 2.066v = 2.178v (-0.03v droop) = 2.148v
    2.10v = 2.110v = 2.228v (-0.03v droop) = 2.198v
    2.15v = 2.173v = 2.296v (-0.03v droop) = 2.266v
    2.20v = 2.231v = 2.340v (-0.03v droop) = 2.310v
    2.25v = 2.273v = 2.388v (-0.03v droop) = 2.358v
    2.30v = 2.312v = 2.430v (-0.03v droop) = 2.400v
    2.35v = 2.375v = 2.478v (-0.03v droop) = 2.448v
    2.40v = 2.419v = 2.524v (-0.03v droop) = 2.494v

    N/A = forgot to measure :heh:

    Anyway at 2.494v vdimm managed 540mhz 4-4-3-8 but 32M time came to about same as 540mhz 4-4-4-8 so i guess lack of a tad more vdimm slowed times ???? I did run 32M at least 8-9 times in same windows session for this time though and not fresh boot run.

    540mhz 4-4-3-8 at 2.494v

    vs

    @540mhz 4-4-4-8 at 2.40v

    So decided to pencil in some more vdimm

    Revised multimeter measured vdimm:

    bios setting = default real = pencil mod result

    AUTO = N/A = 2.060v (-0.03v droop) = 2.030v
    1.80v = N/A = 2.060v (-0.03v droop) = 2.030v
    1.90v = N/A = 2.060v (-0.03v droop) = 2.030v
    1.95v = N/A = 2.110v (-0.03v droop) = 2.080v
    2.00v = 2.007v = 2.140v (-0.03v droop) = 2.110v
    2.05v = 2.066v = 2.201v (-0.03v droop) = 2.171v
    2.10v = 2.110v = 2.244v (-0.03v droop) = 2.214v
    2.15v = 2.173v = 2.304v (-0.03v droop) = 2.274v
    2.20v = 2.231v = 2.360v (-0.03v droop) = 2.330v
    2.25v = 2.273v = 2.409v (-0.03v droop) = 2.379v
    2.30v = 2.312v = 2.437v (-0.03v droop) = 2.407v
    2.35v = 2.375v = 2.508v (-0.03v droop) = 2.478v
    2.40v = 2.419v = 2.544v (-0.03v droop) = 2.514v

    Have yet to test again but could the reason for similar times be due to tRP of 3 in bios is in fact tRP of 4 ???? or lack of vdimm ???

    Don't remember tRP 3 shaving times much for me either. Of course more vdimm is never a bad idea.
