    so is this what your telling me to do lawrywild

    create a floppy with JUST the p5wdh.rom file on it
    boot machine with floppy in and leave machine for 5 minutes with floppy in.

    what bios came on your board? you might be able to just insert the driver cd and let it reload the bios from there.

    Same BIOS. Never disappeared from the ftp, never got updated either. ASUS needs to fix their damn servers, under heavy load old cache contens is served (hence new files tend to disapear from the web sites.) BTW, all files on the ASUS web sites are marked "updated"

    ok going to give it a go because im supposed to be working on compny systems tonight remotly via vpn and i cant even do that Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

    i rmaed my board and it came back with a 1001 bios and a 1.85vmch. but the rev is still the same 1.02 made in taiwan.

    Never have seen a bios 1001.
    Is there a way you can save it then upload it?

    is that 1.85vmch really works?
    maybe if u dont mind, upload ur 1001 bios. so we can try and test it.

    The opamp that controls the vmch CAN'T DO ABOVE 1.65v... Don't get too excited it's about 98% chance it won't work..

    it also could be my board is fresh from RMA. new h/w maybe but the rev on the board is still 1.02g, same as the one I rmaed which doesn't have the 1.85vmch

    Thanks for letting us try it.

    I flashed then cleared cmos then took batt out... I still see 1.65 as my max, no 1.85 for me.

    Ah. then it could be h/w. where to see the serial number. I've yet to try out the
    vmch cos i already got myself a new mobo.
