What tool are you reading & setting 750/1800 with ??

You should not use ATI OD, disable ati hotkey and use
oc tool for clks and ati tool for voltage.

Yes thank you for restating what I just said. However lowering memory timings decreases performance, not increases. Why do you think the memory manufacturer battles are over timings. Any joe schmo can create ultra fast memory with high timings.

I dare you to try starting over with ATITool and running those frequencies. You'll never make it at least with that setup and voltages.

Well the X1900XTX has arrived. I'm having issues with getting the beta ATI tray tools to work right now, so I settled for the CCC overdrive limits. In CCC the overclocks are limited to 690mhz core and 1600mhz memory, which is what I set it at to run 3Dmark 06. Specs the test was run at below:

    Opteron 170 @ 2.8Ghz
    2x1Gb @ DDR 510mhz (2.5-3-2-6)
    X1900 XTX @ 690mhz/1600mhz

    3Dmark06: 6013

    SM2.0: 2402

    HDR/SM3.0: 2564

    CPU score: 2043

I'll update with further results once I top out my overclock.

My card is on air to....and only using CCC OD to OC and not maxxed in OD.........I can do 3.0 gig on air but don't feel like killing cpu with 1.6 volts..and i sure as heck aint pulling mach 1 off to prove it, took forever to get it insulated good........not to mention the 1mb l2 makes a diff in 06....2.8 dualcore 1mb l2 is worth 200 mhz roughly......versus 512kb..... basically saying there are tweaks you can use that will net you 50 more points at the same clock speeds your at right now......

I'm not much on tweaking the scores. All I need is an overclocking tool that works for my X1900 XTX.

Ati overclock tool works fine.......Just likely at the max of your card on air...My x1800xt was the same way.....Once on water it cooperated.

Thats rediculous. If I adjust the frequency in ATI tool 25 beta 12 even under stock speeds it freezes up. To me that means it's not working.

you have to disable the ati2evxx in processes for overclocking with ati tool in 2d mode

maybe you misread......ATI OVERCLOCK TOOL not to be confused with ATI TOOL. use ati tool to set voltages use ati OVERCLOCK tool to set frequencies.
Disable ATI hot key poller service disable ATI smart service disable ati2vexxe.........Manually type in desired clocks in ATI OC tool do not use slider..........etc etc.

For the last time, the ATI Overclocker relaxes timings and that is the ONLY reason you are acheiving such high frequencies. It may show performances increases, but you are counteracting it more than anything.

Really? I suppose it slacked my cores timings to? Wait core doesn't have timings....... ok then how do you explain 823/981 on a x1800xt...record score mind you (wonders why people with lower mem tighter timings didnt take my 3d06 title away, also wonders how with just 10 mhz increases over stock in testing how memory was helping score at crappy timings) Amazing that ATI tool only users cant reach that core speed...........Anyway whatever. You do it your way. As for me i do it the way I know works. Just FYI I'd rather run TCCD at 2.5-4-4-8 at ddr 660 then 2.5-3-3-6 at ddr 550....overalll speed overcomes timings at a certain point. Looks to me like acen /\ is listening and proof is in results.....hmm ddr 800 tight timings get beat by ddr 820 crap timings......amazing......

Do you have any links to these utilities. I have ATI Tool, but cannot seem to find ATI Overclock Tool. There seems to be alot of confusion between the two.

    http://www.driverheaven.net/zardon/overclocker.zip

In service manage in windows disable ATI Smart and ATI Hotkey services and reboot pc. You loose temp reading in CCC but can use ATI Tool to view temps.
Use X1800 Oc'ing tool and set 3D desired clocks using the 2D panel by TYPING in the clocks DO NOT use slider!
Use ATI Tool to only verify and view the 3D clocks are set correctly. So should be same as what you set in X1800 Oc'ing tool.
Whenever you set the mem clock, remember to set the GPU core clock again, or it will fall back to lower clocks and when you set the GPU core clocks again, remember to set the mem clock again, or the same will happen.
Setting voltages, OC'ing tool reports wrong voltages so DO NOT use OC'ing tool to set voltages, use ATI Tool to set voltages. Example, GPU voltage reported in ATI Tool is 1.275v will show in OC'ing tool as 1.3v. Set ATI Tool GPU volts to 1.3v will show OC'ing tool at 1.325v but the real voltage measured by DMM is closer to 1.3v as set in ATI Tool.

Really? Wait? Did you actually try comparing the two and see what occurs? Don't attempt to talk down to me, because you're clearly reaching. I never said anything about the core. Here are three sets of results from three different owners of x1800xl on techpowerup. Granted they are not x1900xtx but the same deal appplies. I've also had similar results with my card and I will do a comparison when I get home from work. You would think one trying to obtain the absolute best performance, such as this forum suggests, you would be more open to other ideas. I'll tell you right now, Overclocker relaxes timings A LOT more than your example. Enough to effect performance. I'll be eagerly awaiting your well thought out response.

600/675 then also locked during 3Dmark!!
With the Overclocker utility I could run 3Dmark at 600/700 with a score of about 8700.

So deciding ATI Tool must still have a bug in it, I ran some benchmarks anyway.
    Look and be amazed:

    Overclocker 625/666 = 8663
    Overclocker 607/702 = 8715

    ATI TOOL 602/603 = 8728
    ATI TOOL 604/634 = 8922
    ATI TOOL 610/648 = 9072

Reading through this thread again, I now saw W1zzard's comment about memory timings.

Well it does on the X1800, so i doubt it doesn't relax the timmings on the X1900.

Do a search for it, it's been discussed many times.
