I agree with u! It's very annoying for a top of the line board!

I see also many reports about vcore fluctuation. Is it really worth to upgrade to -E then?

That's nice! I'm also looking forward to the mods. Running some tests now and it seems that it's ~0.1s faster in SuperPi 1M than P5WD2 clock to clock.

Haven't measured and compared the soldering points between the boards yet, but they look identical so I guess the mods are very similar.

    To kill/confirm some rumors:

    - I have booted at 333 (not tried higher) and I have run up to 380FSB (limited by air cooler)
    - Yes, the board shuts down during restart in some cases.
    - Yes, it droops pretty badly:
    BIOS: 1.500v
    Idle: 1.505v
    Load: 1.466v

here is my "droop chart"... like i said, mine seems to be in "always" droop mode.

    ..............IDLE.........LOAD..........IDLE..... .....LOAD...........IDLE........LOAD

    BIOS.......1.475.........1.475........1.50........ ....1.50............1.55........1.55
    CPU-z......1.44..........1.42..........1.46........... .1.43............1.49.......1.46
    DMM.......1.363.........1.339........1.373........ ..1.358..........1.414......1.385

checked BIOS hardware monitor VS DMM:

    .............12v............5v............CPU (1.55 setting)

    BIOS.....12.249........5.043.........1.512-1.544
    DMM......12.04.........5.00...........1.452-1.456

plugged in the 2nd p4 plug.... seems to have made a *SLIGHT* improvment...
but its within the margin of error for sure

    ...........IDLE......LOAD
    BIOS.....1.55.....1.55
    CPU-Z...1.50.....1.46
    DMM.....1.430...1.405

these are measurements off the MOSFET as pictured in my link above
PSU is a stock Sparkle 550 SLI

    charlie,

    played around with this 6600GT (@ 590/1.14)

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8876432

for a 920 on water with a stock cooled 6600GT ... i think its safe to say this has some 3D potential

    now for the 950 & 2x X1900's

Has anyone checked out the SMBus to see if there is an I/O Conflict with the mb resource? Photo Link to show you what I am talking about. Intel appears to have a fix for it if you do have the problem. Whats so interesting is not the fact that my 915 CS has this problem but has the fix for the 975 CS as well!! Might be worth 3 second check just to be safe.
    Thread
I applied this method because when I updated my most recent 915P chipset drivers it did not include everything specially my USB. I had to d/l the zip file, extract and install each device manually. However, this suggestion is offered from someone who only updates Chipset drivers from Intel, not Asus.

PcCI2iminal or to anyone else that reads this post:

Do you know if I am going to have problems installing a XP-90C HS? That NB HS is tallker then normal for me and not sure if I will have clearance issues. The reason why I ask is that the heat pipes on the XP-90C are installed facing either Norht and South (up or down) not east and west (left or right) as you have your HS' heat pipes setup in your photo (which I had known that prior to purchase).
