Vmod problem - 6800 GT
I used OmniExtremeEditFX to raise my 3D Voltage to 1.4V on my 6800 GT and the card flashed properly. The card runs all of my games and 3DMark03/05 without any problems, but once I try to run 3DMark01, it freezes completely within the first two seconds of the test and I have to do a hard reboot.
Can the card not handle this voltage? It's an eVGA 6800 GT @ 415/1120.
EDIT: I just tried running Source: VST and it's fine.

try setting your 2d voltage to 1.4V also.
-
I just tried that but the same thing happens. Would changing the throttle voltage help? I might have to use hex workshop, though, because OmniExtremeEditFX grays out the throttle voltage option (unless if someone could tell me how to get that to work).

Actually, set both 2d overclock and 3d overclock at same speed to see if it helps. Use riva tuner to do that.

Fast writes are off on everything else except GPU.

i have the same problem, but with a xfx6800gt,if up the 3d voltage the stability decrease,1.4v max stable 390 gpu 1100mem,1.3v 410 gpu 1100mem,sideband adressing and fastwrites on or off doesnt seem to improve stability.
could it be a temperature problem?because after gamming core shows about 65 c on the gpu, after some minuutes in idle 52 c,i have stoc cooling.

same here, the voltages only work for ultras i think, we will have to do a hardmod
-
Been there done that. Hardmod doesn't help if you have stability issues with softmod. It is either problem with the power (single molex) or heat.
I am more prone to think single molex issue for most of people on this forum though.

well its not worth it then. have to try dry ice :D
maybe my card will like cold
or i might try to get a x800
-
Yup, same problem here. I'm able to run much higher core clocks with 1.4v, and everything seems to work fine, except for 3dmark 01. It freezes for some secs in dragotic, then continues, freezes, contiunes etc. VERY annoying as the extra voltage helped me ALOT!
-
whenever i put 1.4v, it freezes in 3dm03 when the sun blinds the screen in nature
even at previous max clock

Take alook here and here
It seems to be a still unsolved NF3 chipset issue, not a vmod problem.
I personally experimented the same and than decide to sell my 6800gt (my x800@xtpe i bettere IMHO).
Is there anyone the experimented the same problem with the k800t chipset?

yes i think so IIRC
kv8 pro didnt work
