8KDA3+ dead...again?
Aight, this is my 2nd one of these boards. The first one died for no reason at all, and this one was giving me a whining sound by the capaciters by the PS/2 ports. I disconnected my fans temporarily to see if it was the fans, no go, and it was definately coming from that area.
So I try to update the bios to see if thats the problem, and it hangs while updating (booting from floppy). I wait 20 min or so, nothing. I turn it off, turn it back on, and the bios freezes at "6d" (LED indicator).
I clear cmos, remove battery, remove extra stuff, try it again a few times, still hangs at the same spot.
So I guess the bios is messed up on this one? Any help or should I get a replacement (gonna get the DFI when it comes out...but I need a computer!)? Couldn't stand the whining noise anyway, it got quite loud sometimes (whenever some cpu intensive type thing came up it whined, and no it wasn't the hard drive)

Whiny caps can only be resolved by either replacement or RMAing the motherboard. Whichever way you choose, good luck. By the way, which psu are you using with that system?

I'm on a Fortron 530, I switched it out with a Antec 430 to see if that was the whining, and it wasn't.
Eitherway, board is botched :\

You can replace the cap if you can identify which one it is...
But most likely you bios is dead. Have you tried hotflashing??
I have to say those bios chips are held very strong by the bios socket, but you can get them out...
Chip is the same as for a nf2 Ultra 400 board, so if you have one laying around you can use that one for hotflashing.

I think I'm just gonna get another RMA *grumbles*
It just kinda perturbs me when I don't even get to fool with the overclocking options, or mod it, and a piece of hardware dies! ;)
