This is 1 graphics card results right? And if so :D
Still I think I'll wait for R650... no rush :) (unless of course Crysis comes out)
-
No crossfire yet? Sorry if I'm asking a bit much already.

compared to the 512mb model is it worth the jump to 1gb?
-
those scores are single card. CF score since i only can make it run @ 16+4, those scores are not that good. but i will post it later next week

Hey D! Have you retired from benching? I haven't see you post numbers in a while.
Cats 7.5
E6600@3.89Ghz - HD2900XT@890/1075
3DMark06 = 13,479

If I were to have a quadcore I could be hitting 15K, I just used the 3DMark06 Calculator and replaced my cpu score with Denny's and it came to 15008...LOL I will push it some more and will run CAS3 on the ram later on.

finally a product that will bring AMD to the market again

Possibly...depends upon it's gaming performance, and not it's 3dmark performance though.
I'm curious on how much the extra ram will help with games actually, as I don't think any game currently can use that much ram.
-
sigh, hasn't anyone learned with the 512mb release that 3DMark scores don't mean a single thing? Who really cares how many multiple thousands of points you can gain from using this card while gaming has the card choke under high settings. There was 1GB tests done before the 512mb card came out and it showed next to no gain at all in performance in games. No game will take advantage of 1GB so I feel it is all going to be wasted memory that won't be utilized. R650 is where we have to wait and hope for changes because 16 ROP/TMU's just isn't cutting it when compared to the 8800.
-
if its the same core, it will still suffer the same horrible drop in fps at high AA. more bandwidth is better but 1GB memory probably wont do much good till Crysis or Bioshock.

Both of those game engines(cryengine2 & UE3.0) support texture streaming, meaning they will use less texture memory, not more. ;)

here is some 16x+4x weak CF testing, 1st card @ stock clocking and 2nd card @ 500/500 clocking (much lower than stock clock speed)
3Dmark03.......................60120
3Dmark05.......................26586
3Dmark06.......................19390
just like Kinc said, CF uses less CPU overhead :D
also 01 doesn;t really benefit when CF enable
according to coolaler
3D06 701/1163 SLi.............19819
3D03 685/1150 SLi.............69224
