To anyone with the DQ6, how are you booting at above +0.25vmch? I'm using the F3e bios and whenever I boot at +0.3vmch or above it will boot but won't show any video. I've seen others booting with up to +0.35vmch, but I just can't get it work.
hey, everyone's computer reacts differently lol . your is UNIQUE? lol
We want help around here, not random commenting and 'jokes' that arent funny.Quote:

I know that everyones pc in overclocking isnt the same, but trying to make a joke out of it... I just cant see it being a joke tbh. I'd be frustrated if i couldnt overclock properley, and a joke for me wouldnt actually help would it?
Anyway lets keep on topic with the thread :toast:
lol okay.
You're right, everyone's hardware is unique. I'm not asking to copy exactly someone's bios settings, I'm just asking for some tips as I've tried everything I can think of to get it to boot at higher vmch. :)
Edit: Fixed it, card needs to be in slot 2.
goodie you found out =D -thumbs up- (2 lazy to click on "post reply")
No I did not flash....:nono: Still with the good old f3b :)Quote:

The latest beta DS3 (F4E) bios is the latest DQ6 beta (F3G).
DS3 owners do not use that bios.
I must apologize to all the brothers here.Quote:

once again, SORRY to all brothers, I MUST apologize to you guys, I really feel pain in my heart......:(
hope you guys will forgive my carelessness....
Not a problem kenofstephen, we thank you for offering up the beta bios, I understand that the problem is further up the chain, looking forward to the correct DS3 bios from Gigabyte.

BTW, i'm getting my DQ6 today (after a bad P5W) and want to know what you all recommend I flash to for some stable initial bios, right now I have those F3E ones downloaded, but what are your thoughts?
Thanks!!

Is that a vailid BIOS for my DS3? (Downloaded from the 1st post in this thread)
Yes.Quote:

I found "965pds3.BIN" at hex offset 0x00090016 in the F4C bios, thats the only string that I could find that made some sense, I haven't checked other bios versions to see if it is the same offset as yet.
Truly identifying that it is the correct bios is not simple with a hex editor since it appears to me that the bios is a compressed image, maybe someone with more programming experience will know what to look for.
changelog F3 to F4c ( download here : http://www.venomousmofo.com/XtremeSy...S3/965PDS3.F4C )
"this bios greatly improves compatibility with ram"
"PIO MODE problem is fixed with F4 bios"
" You may have to boot with 1 stick of ram to get the board to post out of the box, then flash the bios and try both sticks "
"can allow to use 2.1V ram and++"
"you need to turn off all unnecessary things in the BIOS, USB legacy, parallel ports etc"
"DMA mode is fully working" to check this : Go to device manager from system. Under IDE ATA/Atapi controller, right click on primary ide channel (maybe multiple) for properties. Should be under advanced settings tab =>transfer mode.
Lestat ""the F3 bios would reset the bios and let you boot into the bios if you overclocked too far. the F4 bios isnt letting you do that. you have to reset the bios. i dont care for that but hey they are making progress and its a beta so..."
" Due to the 4MB cache and hitting the 1066 memory strap earlier, these CPUs have not been clocking as high on the P965 boards (9x410 or so) unless you drop the mulitplier which defeats the purpose of buying one. The bios revisions are coming in hot and heavy right now"
and remember, the North Bridge get`s very warm, even @ 300 mhz fsb so cool it PROPER ;)
>> To go to the advanced settings in the bios : hit ctrl F1
Who does the bios flash in windows ?
